OMFW: Time is on My Side
We are days away from OMFW! If you are planning to attend the workshop, you have hopefully registered and received your admission ticket. See you in New Orleans!
The next talk we are highlighting is “Time is on My Side”, which will be presented by Jamie Levy. Gleeda has been an active contributor to The Volatility Project for the last couple of years and played a critical role in helping to get Volatility 2.0 ready for release. In this presentation, Gleeda will highlight a number of new capabilities in Volatility 2.0 and demonstrate how an investigator can leverage the new temporal artifacts extracted from memory.
Temporal Reconstruction is an increasingly important part of incident response. While there are solutions for parsing Volatility output for inclusion in a system’s “super timeline”, a lot of temporally relevant information can be extracted directly from physical memory. In this talk, we will demonstrate how an investigator can leverage the context of physical memory and its temporal artifacts to reconstruct a more complete understanding of the digital crime scene.
